Fried Okra In Yogurt
Pointer 1: Use non-tart yogurt only.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 pound fresh or frozen okra
- 1/4 gallon yogurt, home-made or store bought
- 4 green chillies
- 3 Tbsp. grated coconut
- 1/4 tsp. mustart seeds
- a pinch of asafoetida
- 3 to 4 fresh curry leaves
- 2 Tbsp. canola oil
- Salt to taste
Method:
Saute okra in oil until the outside turns brown. Grind chilies and coconut. Take a serving dish, add the okra and ground mixture with the yogurt. Add salt to taste and asafoetida. Garnish it with the mustard roasted in hot oil. Add the fresh curry leaves.
Use as a side dish with Indian breads or rice.
