Pakoda

  • 2 cups gram flour
  • 1/4 cup rice flour
  • 1 red onion diced
  • 8 green chillies diced
  • 1" ginger piece diced
  • 4 cloves garlic diced
  • 1 Tbsp. red chillie powder
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh coriander
  • 1/2 cup warm water or as needed
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to fry

Method:

Take a wide bowl. Mix all ingredients mentioned above, then add water little at a time until the mix turns to a consistency of a thick batter. You should be able to pick up a lump and drop it into the hot oil.

Take a wok^. Heat the oil to about 450 degrees. Lower heat to medium high. Drop little balls of the mixed batter into the oil. Turn over and fry until they are golden brown and cooked evenly. Pick up with a strainer and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Serve as is or with any chutney.
