Barbecue Okra

Okra, try this barbecued.

Pointer1: Use only fresh okra


  • 1 pound fresh okra
  • 1 Tbsp. Olive oil as needed
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • Organic barbecue sauce
  • Cayenne pepper for heat (optional)
  • Salt as needed

Wash okra. Add a tsp. of salt in boiling water. Blanch okra for 5 minutes. Remove and wipe dry using paper towels or kitchen towels.

Slit each okra very slightly. Use a mix of olive oil and melted butter, cover okra generously.

Place okra over your barbecue grill. Braise them with your favorite barbecue sauce. If you need the punch of the cayenne pepper mix as much required with the barbecue sauce. Add a touch of salt if required to tone down the heat of the pepper.

Let okras stay on a covered grill for 5 minutes or adjust time as needed.
