If you are counting calories, looking for nutrition and taste at the same time, you've got them in this wonder plant fungi called mushrooms. See how you can appease your palette while reaping all of the health benefits along with the simple spices I have added to this recipe.

Pointer 1: Fresh mushrooms taste best.

  • 1 tsp. olive oil
  • 2 cups fresh mushroom
  • 2 tsps. turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh chopped coriander
  • Salt to taste

Wash the mushrooms and dry them using a paper towel. Use a wok^ or a skillet. Add oil and let it warm. Add the mushrooms and saute until the water evaporates. You may cook it for a few more minutes so the mushroom gets lightly toasted. Now add the turmeric powder and black pepper. Let it cook for another 5 minutes. Add salt and turn it over a couple times. Remove from heat. Add coriander right before serving.
