Green and Red Pepper Masala
Ingredients:
- 2 peppers, one red and one green
- 2 tsp. poppy seedsĀ
- 1/8 cup dry coconut
- 2 tsps. red chillie powder
- 1 tsp Asafoetida
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 to 2 cups milk
- 1 tsp cuminĀ
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- sprig curry leaves
- 2 Tbsps. fresh coriander
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp. canola oil
Method:
Chop green and red pepper into 2" pieces. Dry roast the poppy sides and blend them to a powder. Add the coconut flakes and grind to a coarse mix.
In 1 tsp. oil, spurt mustard seeds, then add cumin. Next add the chopped green pepper. Now add the turmeric and red chillie powder. After the vegetables cook add milk and the powdered poppy/coconut powder. Let the mixture boil. Add salt and mix well. Finally garnish with the fresh coriander leaves.
Serve with rice or any Indian bread. |
