Kofta Gravy
Ingredients:
- 2 onions, finely chopped fine
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1" ginger, minced
- 4 green chillies, chopped fine
- 4 medium sized tomatoes, chopped fine
- 2 tsps turmeric powder
- 2 tsps cumin powder
- 2 tsps coriander powder
- 2 tsps garam masala
- 2 Tbsp. fresh coriander, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. canola oil
- 1 cup non-tart yogurt
- 1 1/2 cups of water
- Salt to taste
Method:
In a pan or wok, add oil. After it warms up, add the onions. Let it sauté for a few minutes until it becomes translucent. Add the chillies, gartlic and ginger. Continue to sauté for 3 minutes.
Add the spice powders, salt and the chopped tomatoes. Cover with a lid and let the ingredients cook until tomatoes are well done. Finally add the garam masala and the yogurt. Mix well, add water and let the contents come to a boil.
Turn heat to medium-low and drop in the prepared koftas.Turn kofta over carefully just once so they are covered with the gravy mixture making sure the koftas do not fall apart. Finally, garnish with chopped coriander. Serve with hot Indian breads.
